RETROSPECTIVE
Retrospective: A Movie Screening on Gender Disparity and Societal Issues
On a captivating evening, the college auditorium came alive with the thought-provoking event called "Retrospective." This event centered around a movie screening of the renowned film "Persepolis," delving into the themes of gender disparity and societal issues. Dr. Priyam Ghosh, a distinguished faculty member from the BJMC department, skillfully moderated the event.
From 10 am to 5 pm, students and film enthusiasts gathered to witness the poignant narrative of "Persepolis" and engage in a dialogue on the pressing topics it explored. As the lights dimmed and the movie began, the audience embarked on a transformative journey through the experiences of the film's protagonist.
Following the screening, the attendees were pleasantly surprised with promotional bookmarks and pens specially designed by the event's organizing team. These mementos served as reminders of the thought-provoking discussions that were to come.
As hunger pangs set in, the event organizers had arranged for refreshments in the form of delicious nachos and dips. Thanks to the generous sponsorship by Dippin, our esteemed food partner for the event, the audience indulged in savory treats, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. The highlight of the event was the captivating discussion that ensued between Dr. Priyam Ghosh and the enthusiastic audience. People eagerly shared their perspectives, insights, and personal experiences related to the themes of gender disparity and societal issues portrayed in the movie. Dr. Ghosh expertly steered the conversation, ensuring a respectful and inclusive exchange of ideas.
Retrospective succeeded in fostering a community of individuals dedicated to exploring and addressing these important issues, leaving an indelible mark on the minds of all who participated.
